Automated Vision Systems (AVS) respects your right to privacy and your need to protect your personal information from misuse. You may visit most parts of our website without disclosing any personal information.

The information below describes:

Personal Information We Collect on Our Website

Your personally identifiable information is any information you share with us that can personally identify you such as your name, address, phone number, email address, or credit card number or related information.

To communicate with us through a form provided on our website, register for one of our courses, or access a course for which you are registered, you are choosing to share personal information with us. If you choose not to share personal information with us, you can still visit most of our website, but you may be unable to access certain areas or services.

To help protect you from identity theft, when you are using a credit or debit card to pay on-line for services, we use the service of a well recognized and highly trusted third-party to process your payment. AVS receives notification from this third party confirming payment, but AVS is never given any credit card, debit card, or bank information from the third party processing the payment. In order to make a payment, you may need to establish an account with this third-party payment processor. There is no cost to you to set up the account. The third-party payment processor will have their own privacy policy that may be different from ours, and you are advised to review that policy before establishing an account.

We assure you that we will take appropriate steps to protect the information you share with us from unauthorized access or disclosure.

Site Security Features

AVS realizes that security is very important to you; so, we have taken a number of steps to enhance the protection of personal information sent to us over the internet.

First, we require that a secure session be established using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology whenever you supply or access personal information. SSL technology creates a private conversation between your computer and our host computer. It encodes information being sent over the internet helping to ensure the transmitted information remains confidential from the time you begin typing it until it is received at our host computer.

The use of SSL requires an SSL-compliant browser and a compliant web server (ISP).

SSL compliant browsers include Netscape 2.0 and above, Internet Explorer 2.0 and above, and AOL 3.0 for windows and above. If you don't already have an SSL compliant browser, you must download one before attempting to send us personally identifiable information.

A compliant web server performs the encryption key exchange between your computer and our host computer. Nearly all ISPs automatically enable the SSL session. If you use your company's internal connection to access the internet and find you cannot access the AVS secure pages with an SSL-compliant browser, your company may be blocking access via a "firewall". In that event, please speak to your firm's internet access system administrator for further details on your network's internet access.

Some areas of our web site, like the on-line courses, require the use of a User ID and Password as an additional security measure to allow you access to those parts of the website for which you have registered and preventing unauthorized access.

What You Can Do to Protect Your Personal Information

When accessing the secure portions of our site where your personal information may be exposed, make sure of the following three items:

  • Your browser's security icon, usually a small padlock, is showing
  • The URL to the site begins with "https" and not "http"
  • The host domain on the URL is "", our domain host's secure server

If you do not see all three of these indicators, do not enter any personal information, and contact us to report the page that was displayed.

Be aware that many browsers cache pages in your computer to help speed your internet experience. The cached pages may contain personal information. After finishing a secure session, close your browser; this will ordinarily erase the cached pages. If you are using a publicly accessible computer at, say, a library, this is extremely important. Some of our secure pages give you the option to "Log off"; this is also a secure way to end the session and help prevent anyone from accessing your personal information.

Do not give out your User ID or your password to anyone. Anyone with your User ID and password might be able to access your personal information stored on our website host computer.

There are malicious programs called spyware or adware that are loaded onto your computer by web sites or e-mail messages without your knowledge. Some of these programs are designed to copy your keystrokes and send that information to another party unknown to you. Personal information can be compromised by these programs. There are removal programs available that detect and remove spyware and adware from your computer. AVS recommends that you obtain one of these removal programs and use it frequently to keep your computer and your personal information secure.

How We Track Your Activity on Our Website

Some of our web pages may use "cookies" so we can provide you with better access and more personalized content when you visit our site. Cookies are identifiers sent by a website to your browser and stored in your computer to facilitate your visits to our site. A cookie cannot retrieve any data from your hard drive, pass on computer viruses, or capture any personal identifiable information. Using cookies allows us to identify your computer when it accesses our website, and to keep track of the pages that you, or any user of your computer, access.

You can set your browser to accept cookies, to reject cookies, or to notify you when a website wants to send a cookie, and let you make the decision whether to accept or reject the cookie. If your browser does not accept cookies, some features of our website may not be available to you.

As a standard part of web access, we receive your IP address and you're the type of browser you are using every time you access our website. Neither the IP address or the information identifying the type of browser contain any personally identifiable information. We may use this IP address to track how you use the site, compile statistics, or identify trends in order to help us make improvements. Tracking the type of browser being used helps us optimize our website contents for the best online experience for our visitors. However, even through this analysis, all users remain anonymous.

How We Use Personal Information

AVS will use your personal information to help provide you with better services and to support your relationship with us. We will use the information to grant you access to protected portions of the website that you are entitled to access. We may also use your personal information to contact you by phone, postal mail, or email with information that we believe will be useful or interesting to you.

Other than noted above for processing payments, AVS will not disclose, sell, trade, or rent to any third party any personal information you provide to us through our website. We may aggregate information from many people who use our website to create broad demographic profiles. These demographic profiles contain nothing that can personally identify you or be used to compromise your privacy or security. We may share this demographic information with third parties.

Children Under 13 Years of Age

We do not knowingly solicit data online from or market to children under the age of 13.

Links to Other Websites

Our website may contain links, URLs, to websites that are the property of others and are maintained by them for their purposes. While we will not knowingly like to a website with harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content, we have no control over the content of these websites or the sites that are accessed by these URLs. When you click on a link to an outside web site, we do not send any personally identifiable data to that web site. None of these linked sites are controlled by AVS, and each of them may have their own privacy policy or no privacy policy. We recommend that you review the website's privacy policy before disclosing any personal information to them.

If AVS decides to change this Privacy Policy, we will post the changes on this page so you can always be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.

If you have any comments or questions regarding our privacy policy, please contact us. We will do our best to address any issue that will help you be comfortable using our website.
